Sheyi retired from ExxonMobil Upstream Companies in Nigeria as Executive Director, Commercial & New Business Development on March 31, 2017. In this role, she was primarily responsible for leading all commercial negotiations with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and various companies interested in either Farm-in or Farm-out opportunities with ExxonMobil. She also led the company in ensuring regulatory compliance with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and National Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB) requirements

As Principal Consultant/CEO, she brings close to 40 years of hands-on experience in all aspects of Subsurface, Surface, Operations, Production   and Project Engineering combined with a deep knowledge of Commercial and Business development.

Sheystarted her career as a Reservoir Engineer with Ashland Oil Port-Harcourt in 1984 during her National Youth Service Corp and joined the company in 1985 as a full-time employee.   She joined Mobil Producing Nigeria in February 1989 as Reservoir Engineer III.

During her 28 year career with ExxonMobil, she held several key technical and managerial positions, including: Snr Reservoir Engineer, Mobil Exploration and Production Technology Center, Dallas Texas, USA; Reservoir Modelling Engineer, Central Technology Office, Houston Texas, USA; Reservoir Engineering Supervisor, General Manager, Plans & Programs/New Business Development; General Manager, Commercial & Nigeria Content; General Manager, Projects Development in Nigeria; Senior Technical Advisor, Project Management and Execution, ExxonMobil Development Company (EMDC), Houston Texas; Manager, Construction Support (Gulf of Mexico, Africa, Caspian  & Asia Pacific regions), EMDC, Houston Texas; General Manager, Project Support and General Manager, Business Development, Upstream Nigeria, Commercial.

During her Project Execution and Construction assignments, she worked on several key ExxonMobil projects around the world with a total portfolio value in excess of $20 billion.

She was elevated to the Board of Mobil Producing Nigeria as an Executive Director in July 2012. In December 2015, she was also appointed to the Board of Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (EEPNL) and Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (Offshore East). She was the only female on the eight-man Board of Directors of these ExxonMobil upstream companies in Nigeria. Sheyi was also a member of the Upstream Nigeria Extended Leadership Team, Leadership Development Committee (LDC), and was a key Advisory Committee member of the ExxonMobil Women Interest Network (WIN).

Seyi is a 1984 graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos, Akoka. She is an active member of the Board of Trustees of Society of Petroleum Engineers Nigeria Council, the University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UFEAA), and the Nigerian American Multicultural Council, Houston, Texas. She is a Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a Fellow of the Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE). She is an astute proponent of Girls and Women in STEM and drives this passion unreservedly.
